Traits

Nimble Escape. The goblin can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.

Actions

Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6+2) slashing damage.

Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6+2) piercing damage.

Running the goblin

How hard a fight? Against a party of four, a single goblin is barely a challenge at any level. Add allies or more foes in the encounter generator.

Where you'll find it: forests, hills, mountains and the Underdark.

Story hooks

  • The goblin was a loyal soldier until their captain sold the unit to the enemy. Most of them died. This one lived, and has spent years working down a list of names.
  • The goblin has a price on their head for a crime they didn’t commit, and the real culprit is the one who posted the bounty.

Similar creatures: Bugbear, Hobgoblin.

Cookies on this site

This site uses cookies for ads (Google AdSense) and visit analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity). Neither is required for the generators to work. You can accept both, or continue with only what's necessary for the site to function. See the for details, or change this anytime via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

There's already a fight in the tracker

A new fight clears the old monsters and goes back to round 1. Your players stay as they are.

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026.

Fantasy Portal is an independent project run by one person (Tom). This page explains, in plain terms, what happens with your information when you use the site.

What's stored on your own device

The site remembers a couple of small preferences, whether you've switched to light mode, and whether you've already seen this notice, using your browser's own local storage. This stays on your device only; it's never sent to me or to any server.

Roll history

Your recent character, monster, and loot rolls are automatically kept only for your current browsing session, so you can look back at what you just generated. They're cleared when you refresh or close the page, and are never stored on a server unless you choose to sign in and use the Save feature, described below.

The Contact Me form

If you use the Contact Me form, whatever you enter (your name and email if you choose to give them, and your message) is sent to me via Web3Forms, a third-party form-handling service, so I can read and reply to it. It's used only for that purpose. I don't share or sell it.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can see and control how Google personalizes ads via Google's Ads Settings, and read Google's own policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand roughly how many people visit and which pages they use. It uses cookies and may collect information like your approximate location and device type. This data is aggregated, and I don't use it to identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

This site also uses Microsoft Clarity, which records session replays and heatmaps of how visitors use the site, so I can see which parts of a tool are confusing or unused and improve them. It uses cookies and may collect similar technical information (device type, approximate location, pages visited). Microsoft's own privacy statement is at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Accounts and saved rolls

You can optionally sign in with your Google account to save characters, monsters, and loot you've rolled, so you can come back to them later. This is entirely optional. Every generator on this site works fully without signing in.

If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with the site, which I use only to show you your own saved rolls and let you sign back in later. When you use the Save button, the details of that roll are stored in a database (Firebase, provided by Google) tied to your account. Only you can see or manage your own saved rolls. Nobody else, including me, can access them through the site.

Signing out doesn't delete anything you've saved; it's still there next time you sign back in. If you'd like your saved data deleted entirely, use the Contact Me form and I'll remove it.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to ask about your data, use the Contact Me form. It reaches me directly.
