7th-level transmutation spell
You step into the Border Ethereal, where it overlaps your current plane, and remain there for the duration or until you use your action to dismiss the spell. You can move in any direction, but moving up or down costs an extra foot per foot. You can see and hear the plane you came from, though everything looks gray and you can’t see more than 60 feet. You can affect and be affected only by creatures on the Ethereal Plane, and creatures elsewhere can’t perceive or interact with you unless they have special means; you ignore objects and effects not on the Ethereal Plane and can move through them. When the spell ends, you return to your original plane where you are; if you’re inside a solid object or creature, you’re shunted to the nearest unoccupied space and take force damage equal to twice the feet moved. The spell has no effect if cast on the Ethereal Plane or a plane that doesn’t border it, such as an Outer Plane.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a slot of 8th level or higher, you can target up to three willing creatures (including you) for each slot level above 7th. The creatures must be within 10 feet of you when you cast the spell.
