7th-level abjuration spell
You inscribe a nearly invisible glyph (found with an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC) on a surface up to 10 feet across, or inside a closable object, which breaks the spell if moved more than 10 feet. You set the trigger, such as touching, approaching, opening, or reading it, and can refine it or exclude creatures (for example, by password). When triggered, the glyph fills a 60-foot-radius sphere with dim light for 10 minutes, then the spell ends. Each creature in the sphere when it activates, or that enters it for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there, is affected by the glyph you chose: Death (Con save, 10d10 necrotic, half on success); Discord (Con save or argue for 1 minute, unable to communicate meaningfully, with disadvantage on attacks and ability checks); Fear (Wis save or frightened 1 minute, dropping what it holds and moving at least 30 feet away each turn); Hopelessness (Cha save or for 1 minute unable to attack or target anyone with harmful effects); Insanity (Int save or for 1 minute unable to act, understand, or read, speaking gibberish, with the DM controlling its erratic movement); Pain (Con save or incapacitated 1 minute); Sleep (Wis save or unconscious 10 minutes, waking if damaged or shaken awake); Stunning (Wis save or stunned 1 minute).
