Multiattack. The scorpion makes three attacks: two with its claws and one with its sting.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8+2) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 12).
Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d10+2) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 12 Constitution save, taking 22 (4d10) poison damage on a failure, or half as much on a success.
How hard a fight? Against a party of four, a single giant scorpion is deadly at level 1, hard at level 2, medium at level 3 and easy at level 4, and barely a challenge from level 5. Add allies or more foes in the encounter generator.
Where you'll find it: deserts and the Underdark.
