Bound. The guardian is magically linked to an amulet. While both are on the same plane, the amulet’s wearer can telepathically summon the guardian, which knows the wearer’s distance and direction.
Damage Transfer. While within 60 feet of the amulet’s wearer, the guardian takes half of any damage the wearer takes (rounded up).
Regeneration. The guardian regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point.
Spell Storing. A spellcaster wearing the amulet can store one spell of 4th level or lower in the guardian by casting it on the guardian; the spell has no effect but is held. When the wearer commands, or when a situation set by the caster occurs, the guardian casts the stored spell using the original caster’s parameters and no components. Storing a new spell or casting the old one empties the previous spell.
Multiattack. The guardian makes two fist attacks.
Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Reaction: Shield. When a creature attacks the amulet’s wearer, the guardian grants the wearer a +2 bonus to AC against that attack if the guardian is within 5 feet of the wearer.
How hard a fight? Against a party of four, a single shield guardian is deadly at levels 1–4, medium at levels 5–6 and easy at levels 7–10, and barely a challenge from level 11. Add allies or more foes in the encounter generator.
Where you'll find it: towns and cities and dungeons.
