False Appearance. While the violet fungus remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary fungus.
Multiattack. The fungus makes three attacks with its tentacles.
Tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d4+2) poison damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned. The poisoned target takes 3 (1d6) poison damage at the start of each of its turns. The poisoned creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
How hard a fight? Against a party of four, a single violet fungus is barely a challenge at any level. Add allies or more foes in the encounter generator.
Where you'll find it: the Underdark and dungeons.
